What makes a flower arrangement unique is the way it grabs and holds attention. Unique flower arrangements need to be something that people haven’t seen before (if ever). They need to immediately draw the attention of whoever walks into the room.

Here’s the factors that make flower arrangements unique:

The Rarest Flowers On Earth

One of the most effective ways to make a unique floral arrangement is by weaving rare flowers into the design. Flowers that are difficult to obtain, that have tropical or exotic features that most people have most likely never seen before.

Rare flowers also have an air of luxury and exclusivity due to how difficult they can be to obtain. 

Here is a list of some of the rares flowers on the planet:

  • Middlemist Red - Only found in New Zealand and the UK, considered to the rarest flower on Earth
  • Ghost Orchid (Dendrophylax lindenii) - Found in Florida and parts of the Caribbean, only blooms in humid and swamp environments
  • Gibraltar Campion (Silene tomentosa) - Believed to be extinct before being rediscovered in 1994 on the Rock of Gibraltar
  • Kadupul Flower (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) - Native to Sri Lanka, it blooms at night and wilts by sunrise
  • Parrot’s Beak (Lotus berthelotii) - Grows in the Canary Islands, it’s nearly extinct due to the birds that pollinate it fleeing the region

What Is The Rarest Color Of Flower?

Research by UC Berkeley has awarded blue the title of rarest flower color. Fewer than 10% of flowering plants produce blue blooms, and many of those that appear blue are actually variants of purple or violet that reflect light in a way that tricks the eye.

This rarity comes from the fact that plants lack a natural blue pigment. To achieve a blue hue, flowers have to modify red pigments (anthocyanins) through a complex mix of pH changes and chemical bonding.
