House Blooms: For You and Your Guests

Confession time: I always have fresh flowers in my home. Always. They're my favorite little luxury—and honestly, they're not just for guests. They’re for me. Every Thursday, like clockwork, I bring home a few bundles of blooms and sprinkle them throughout my house like floral fairy dust. (Proof? Scroll back on my Instagram. You'll catch me mid-flower hustle, sleeves rolled up and vases in hand—ha!)

There’s just something magical about flowers in a home. They brighten a room instantly, add life to every corner, and evoke that hard-to-pin-down feeling of "Ahhh, I'm home." They don’t just look pretty—they feel good. Energetically uplifting. Happy. Alive.

And guess what? Even my husband notices when I skip a week. (Which is rare, but hey—life happens.) He’ll walk in and say, “It feels like something’s missing…” And he’s right. Flowers are the unsung heroes of a cozy, welcoming home—even when you think no one notices. (Spoiler alert: They do. Wink wink.).

So, how do I keep it up every week without it turning into a chore?

Let me share a few of my favorite tips:

🌸 Keep it seasonal and simple. I don’t get the same flowers each week. I like to switch it up with what’s in season—maybe four or five different varietals max—and I spread them out in vases around the house.

🍃 Single-variety vases are your best friend. Most weeks, I’ll do one type of flower per vase. It looks intentional without needing to play designer. But every now and then, I’ll create a “moment” with a styled piece for the coffee or dining table—just to zhuzh it up a bit.

🪞 Invest in vases that fit your vibe. My vase collection is vast—and not just glass! I have ceramics, metals, and even vintage finds that add personality to the blooms. They make each arrangement feel right at home.

🧼 Give your flowers a clean start. Before arranging, I bleach out my vases (yep—bacteria is not your bloom’s BFF). Then I use fresh, room-temperature water and make sure to change it every couple of days. Bonus points for trimming the stems when you do!

💀 Say goodbye to the bad bloom. If one flower starts to wilt or die—toss it! A decaying bloom can spoil the water and shorten the life of the whole bunch. Let your flowers thrive!

Now, if you’re not ready to commit to weekly flowers just for you (even though I highly recommend it), then try this:

Bring in blooms when guests are coming!

Fresh flowers are a secret weapon for making your space feel warm and welcoming. Think of them as the cherry on top of your hospitality sundae. Choose blooms that evoke the senses—soft fragrance, pretty texture, joyful color.
